Hiring the motorhome for festivals:
Hire fee £85 a day + up to £250 daily loading + £1000 security bond taken on credit card. HOWEVER - 2012 prices could be reduced = changes in fees will be available mid March 2012.
Tracking equipment means we know where you are parked.
Festivals and similar events do not provide easy fresh water filling, electric hook up or easy emptying of toilet & waste water. From our own personal experience at festivals we have learned the following:
This camper is not suitable for more than 2 adults owing to the size of

fresh and waste water tanks

toilet / shower waste facilities

over cab sleeping accommodation etc.,

We therefore restrict hires to festivals or similar group camping events to a maximum of 2 adults.

Larger vehicles with more all round capacity are more suited to 3 or more adults.
Reasons it costs more for festivals :
Security Bond:
We are festival goers ourselves and know that safety / security is not an issue at most festivals.
However, in line with most hire companies, festival goers incur an insurance company regulated security bond of £1000 (insurance co. requirement). We also have stringent vehicle cleaning, toilet cleaning & emptying requirements with possible extra cleaning charges & restrictions on numbers.
Loading incurred daily - up to £250 - to cover loss of hire days afterwards:
We have also found it necessary this year, to load the hire fee on a daily basis to cover loss of use for the few days after the festival hire period. Festival hirers usually require the vehicle from Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday and return on Monday. This return day encroaches into the hire period for the following week. The loading helps cover any lost business.
Last minute availability for festival hires: please telephone with full details of driver, ages of occupants, driver licence info and full occupation details - for the insurance company.
This is our only vehicle - it is NOT a regular hire company vehicle and we have to fit in cleaning the vehicle around our other employment. Even if returned on Sunday, the subsequent cleaning may entail 2 or more days, thus we lose possible income for the week after the festival. You may find some of the other small hire companies in our group will have availability.
Tracking:
From 2011 a tracking device will be installed in the vehicle. We will therefore be in a position to establish where it is travelling and where it is parked at any given time. Any hirer who does not advise us at the time of booking that they are attending a festival during the period of hire will incur a penalty of a further £500 which will be automatically charged to their credit card.
- If we believe a hirer is likely to take the vehicle to a festival during a long hire period the loading still applies during the festival period even though it is for a longer hire period.

Extra Cleaning costs:
The only time we might ask for an extra cleaning fee is normally dependent on the weather. If the vehicle is very muddy underneath we may have to send it to have it pressure cleaned to remove the mud - a specific high ramp building is required for motorhomes & lorries. This would entail a further day's loss of business (or two days) and a cost of £186.
A deposit is taken in the normal way for festival hires but this does not secure the vehicle until we see proof of tickets/camping area (photocopies) and are happy with the status of the hirer.
Our usual terms and conditions apply. We reserve the right to refuse a hire booking or to hand over the vehicle on the hire day should we deem it necessary even though all fees have been paid.
Why not check other companies out
We are members of a group network and have links with other small hire companies and may well be able to provide details of other campers and motorhomes for your friends too. We do suggest though that you contact larger hire companies who run several hire vehicles rather than single vehicle owners.
Instalments - in advance to help you pay for festival trips:
If hiring for a festival and prefer to pay the hire fee, loading and security bond in instalments, we will consider taking payments over 4 months by credit card providing all payments are cleared well in advance of the hire date. Any default of payment means the transaction will be terminated, the booking lost and no refunds are provided either so the best bet is - don't default.
