1 day = 24 hour period from midnight to midnight. Minimum hire is 3 days/long weekend. See pick up/delivery times below.
Example away break: 4 Days in July will cost you £340 ALL IN ! (That is only EU 385 ). Apart from a £10 booking fee. Absolutely no extras to pay - just your fuel & at around 30 miles to the gallon that isn't too much either.
Split that cost between three of you travelling and it comes down to £28 /EU 31 a day per person. You can travel where and when you chose. Your camp site fees are not so high and are also split between you. Camp sites vary but an average site would be £15-20 a night in the height of the season. There are cheaper overnight pub stopovers too - they dont have electric hook up or loos of course - and you are expected to each in the pub.

Instalments are avaiable see How to Book
Terms & Conditions: Hirers read & agree prior to hire.
Free Car Parking: We provide free parking for your car at our home location. We are based in a very rural area with a low crime rate.
Delivery and collection: All local deliveries are free. Further afield: We are happy to deliver/collect the camper or up to 4 people where possible but have to charge for fuel & time taken. Any costs will be added to the hire fee. To give you a rough idea, the cost for Exeter or Bristol airports will be approximately £60 one way, and to Tiverton/Taunton bus/rail stations £45. London Gatwick Airport is more expensive but we are happy to do this trip too and have links in the South East of England so may be in a position to offer a transfer more cheaply if we know someone traveling to/from the South West at a time to suit you.
Pick up & Return times: We try to be as flexible as possible for you. Pickup any time from 10am - 6pm. Return no later than about 6pm if possible please to complete the handback by 7pm. Handover is best done in daylight so that you can clearly see how everything works.
A 24 hour period runs from midnight to midnight. Any period over and above the 24 hour period of hire is charged at a full day rate. Even if you return the camper early in the day, we are unable to take a booking for that same day and often not for the next day either - just in case you are delayed for some reason, we therefore have to charge you a full days rate.
When picking up the camper, it is best to allow yourself enough time after collecting the vehicle to get to a camp site or camping spot well before dark. However - we can very easily deliver the vehicle to your chosen camp site or local destination in readiness for your arrival - we deliver to site any time up to 5pm - this may be dependent on the site arrivals times. You will then have your car to tour the area or can move on - we will arrange storage of your car if you wish, although many camp sites have parking arrangements.
Hand-Over: We require that the hirer arrives at least 1 hour prior to departure time to enable us to ensure they are fully informed and aware of how the various appliances and fixtures work. This is vital, so please ensure you allow for this. At this time the hirer should also check the vehicle over for any damage or scratches etcetera prior to departure. Any such damage or scratch will be noted. A similar time is required on return.
Returns & Insurance cover: We will try to be as flexible as possible regarding return times within the limits of the insurance cover. The vehicle must be returned before the final time stated on the rental agreement. Late return means that the driver may be driving without insurance so may be liable for prosecution. We must be notified in advance of any delays. At the time of return the hirer should check for and point out any damage caused inside or out whilst the vehicle was in their care. A hand-over period of 1 hour must be set aside for paperwork and checking of the vehicle.
Insurance : is included in the price of the hire: We provide fully comprehensive insurance cover (in UK only) for the driver for the duration of the hire period only. The vehicle is not insured for and therefore cannot be taken on hire journeys outside the UK mainland. Extra drivers will incur a small fee and must be nominated at the time of booking. Drivers holding non GB licenses or licences carrying penalty points etc., may be charged more.
Insurance Excess: The standard excess is £500. In the event of any damage to either the vehicle or third party property, the hirer will be liable for the first £500 load. The hirer will also be fully liable for replacement or repair of windows, tyre damage or other parts of the vehicle internally or externally which are not covered by insurance. In some instances the insurance company set a higher excess.
Basic Insurance Requirements: All drivers must:
- Be between a minimum of 25 and maximum of 70 years of age;
- Have held a valid UK or EU licence for over 2 years.
- Provide proof of identity x 2 - one of which must show a photograph.
- Provide a licence showing their photograph prior to vehicle hand-over.
- Meet the requirements of the insurance company regarding fitness, occupation and driving history.
- Ensure that they are the only driver unless another driver was nominated and detailed on the booking form.
- Failure to comply could result in prosecution even if not on a public road.
- Excessive penalty points may incur higher charges.
- Prior disqualification is liable for refusal.
- Non EU or UK licence holders subject to insurance company validation.
Security Bond: To cover any uninsured damage should you have an accident whilst driving, or damage occurs to the vehicle otherwise, we require you to deposit with us a security bond of £500 before driving the camper/motorhome. This should be provided by credit card at the time of paying the hire fee. If the funds are not cleared the vehicle cannot be released.
This bond will also be used to cover any uninsured, internal or external loss or damage to the vehicle or contents in case of accidents whilst in your care. It must therefore be noted that the hirer is also responsible for the cost of any such replacement or repairs which exceed that £500 bond. This bond is also used to cover cleaning etc. if necessary. It will be refunded in full by cheque provided the vehicle and contents are returned in the condition in which you received them. The hirer is also liable for the first £500 insurance excess.
We (Camper Hire UK) may be required by the insurance company and therefore reserve the right to increase the security bond to £1000 for rentals to music festivals, special events or other hirers should it be felt necessary.
Security Bond Refund: This can take in the region of 10 working days. If there are found to be any minor breakages or items/parts which require attention or replacement we will recover the cost from the bond. Cleaning charges, toilet cleaning and emptying and fuel not replaced will be deducted from the bond. More serious damage may take longer than 10 days to remedy. Any refundable part of the bond will therefore be returned as soon as the work is completed.
Damage to the upper part of the body of the camper is not insured under this agreement or by the insurance. When driving it is important to remember that there is approximately 4 foot above the drivers head and 3 foot in front of that to take into consideration if driving under trees or car park barriers or near road signs etc.
Please be aware that any uninsured damage will be taken from the security bond and any costs above this amount will be charged to the hirer according to these terms and conditions and may be taken from your credit card. You are liable - so be aware.
Mileage: We offer unlimited mileage for hire periods up to one or two weeks. Mileage costs for 2 weeks or longer however, are by arrangement. Extended hire mileage is subject to 25p per mile over 750 miles to cover cost of extra maintenance involved. This however, is subject to change and a shorter free mileage distance may be introduced during mid and low seasons to make hiring viable for us - maintenance costs of higher mileage mean it is not always viable. The limit is likely to be 450 miles and 25p a mile over that. The vehicle may not be taken outside the mainland of England, Scotland or Wales.
Fines: The hirer is fully and totally responsible and liable for any parking or traffic offence, fine or penalty incurred whilst the vehicle is on hire. Camper Hire UK will follow normal procedures relating to any notices of fines or penalties received during, or relating to, the duration of hire.
Keys: Should you lose them, please contact us immediately on either the office or emergency home number if no reply on the office phone. The keys cost in the region of £150 - £200 to replace so take care of them.
Cleaning: The vehicle must be returned clean and in the same condition as it left us. If not, a charge of £75 will be made for cleaning. The toilet must be emptied and the toilet itself clean; If it is not clean and emptied, a further charge of £100 will be made. Excessive mud or sand etc inside caused for example by festival goers, or excessive dirt/mud/hair caused by pets incur a further £25 cleaning charge. Specific cleaning charges may apply to festival hirers - view relevant page of the site for further information.
Specific weeks: For specific weeks, venues, festival hire etc. we may add a further charge for cleaning on top of the normal hire fee.
Minimum Hire: During our peak hire periods, the minimum hire is usually 7 days. We are however, prepared to discuss changes to this.
Wet Weather conditions: If the weather or ground is likely to be wet, festival and other hirers are requested to use the plastic runner and may be required by Camper Hire UK at short notice, to hire and erect securely, the attachable awning when on site/parked overnight at a cost of £35 to provide space outside the interior of the vehicle to store muddy, wet boots, clothes, chairs & umbrellas.
Extras: We provide a number of free optional extras such as the bike rack, camping chairs, umbrella, torch and essential stores of food etc. Some of the Extras which are offered for a small fee however, are of some value e.g. satnav, and cannot be covered by insurance. It is vital therefore, to ensure you have taken out a separate and sufficient insurance to cover breakage, loss or damage to these items. We cannot insure you for personal accident nor can we insure your personal belongings whilst you are using the camper, we strongly suggest you have your own insurance cover for these things.
If possible, please be kind enough to replace any items for food or drink which are either nearly finished or used up completely so that it is ready for us to use next time or for the next person who hires it. You must try to ensure the cupboards are left as you found them. Thank you.
Special Occasion bookings: We will endeavour to provide a ‘special occasion’ feature for the booking if given sufficient information and time to arrange it: e.g. Flowers, Champagne, Wine, Balloons etc. The charge for a ‘special occasion’ feature varies and will be invoiced and is payable at least 7 days prior to handover.
Cancellation: If you cancel the booking within 4 weeks of the collection / delivery date we will retain the deposit; If you signed an agreement to hire for a full week or more however, we will retain up to 30 % of the hire fee to cover some of the loss of the week's business. If we are able to re-hire the vehicle prior to the original collection/delivery date however, we will happily refund the hire fee in full. Cancellations made prior to the 4 week deadline entitle the hirer to a refund of the full amount of the hire fee less £20 administration fee. Bookings made by ourselves for pre booked and paid for pitches at campsites are subject to the terms and conditions of the campsite and are the hirers responsibility. Please check these personally.
Non Availability: This is not an impersonal fleet hire business. We do not own a fleet of vehicles. In the unlikely event that the vehicle is not available owing to breakages/breakdown or accident, we are unlikely to be able to provide you with an alternative. We strongly advise you take out your own holiday insurance to cover this eventuality. We will however, try very hard to find you another similar vehicle with another company. This may not be in the same location as ours. If we are unable to locate a suitable vehicle we will refund your deposit.
Travel/Holiday Insurance: We strongly recommend that clients ensure they take out the highest level of travel/holiday insurance. In many cases this will cover any losses incurred if you are forced to cancel your booking or loss of use of the vehicle owing to accident etc.
Accident Breakdown: In the unlikely event of a breakdown the camper is covered by the AA and includes AA Relay. Camper Hire UK must be notified immediately of any breakdown or accident. Once the vehicle is handed over to the hirer it becomes the responsibility of the hirer, any breakdown or damage caused by the negligence of the hirer including tyres is the responsibility of the hirer. Our liability does not extend to hirer negligence or accidental damage which denies the hirer the complete use of his vehicle.
Repairs and Damage: The hirer is not authorized to effect any repairs to the vehicle costing more than £50.00 during the hire period without our prior consent. Camper Hire UK will refund to the hirer the cost of necessary repairs, not exceeding £50.00 (or more if agreed) provided those repairs are executed to our satisfaction, on production of a VAT receipt and any parts replaced.
Pets: We are happy to accept up to 2 pets (small dogs only) but a charge for cleaning may be required if it is felt that the vehicle requires it on return. We do not accept cages in our motorhome owing to damage to woodwork. Pets must not be left unattended in the vehicle. We would appreciate it if owners kept dogs off the seating. If the dog is a large one - or if there are two medium sized dogs, it is usually preferable to hire the awning as well to provide more space for them to sleep in (esp if intending to staying anywhere for a couple of nights).
Smoking: Is not allowed in the vehicle. Ashtrays are provided for outside use.
