The West Somerset Railway - originally The Great Western Line - is not far away from amper Hire UK base. The Minehead terminal is a great spot for seeing engines of all shapes and sizes.
Easy parking right next to the station and if you time it right you might even be there for the beer festival.
The WSR run several different special trips along the line to and from Bishops Lydeard and Minehead. Give yourself a treat on
- The fish and chip supper run
- A Jazz night trip
- How about a Murder Mystery trip
- Special visits by big engines
Come and visit the area at the same time as some of the really well known steam engines and get up close for your very own photos
Visit the WSRailway events page to see what they have to offer when you are here in Somerset in the camper
Bishops Lydeard won the best kept station award in 2010.
The work of the volunteers to restore and keep trains running is not a small affair. The Works at Williton is a busy place. Photo by Andy Wray.
